The 2020 Chamber Leadership Class had to develop and execute a project that made a positive impact on the community and reflected the personality, style, and abilities of their team. Team 2 of the 2020 Leadership Program has partnered with Memorial Blood Centers to organize a blood drive!
Blood donors are needed every day to sustain a safe and adequate supply and blood is an essential part of emergency preparedness. They have implemented additional precautionary measures to ensure a safe donation environment, and they are looking for donors!
Giving blood is safe and simple
It's more important than ever for donors and the public to know that donating blood is still a safe, easy process that is an essential part of community preparedness, even as we are encouraged to stay home as much as possible. They have implemented additional precautionary measures to ensure a safe donation environment including:
They are restricting blood drive access to only donors and essential staff
Their staff has been provided face masks and are practicing social distancing
They are asking donors to wear a mask, they do have a limited supply if you don't have one
They are checking temperatures of staff and donors upon arrival
They are using hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes to ensure staff & donor safety
They are asking donors to self-screen before coming in to donate
They are spacing out appointments to allow for social distancing
They are only accepting blood donations by appointment
